The Broken Hill Mineral Club is a collaborative group of mineral collectors and enthusiasts based in Broken Hill, Australia. Formed in 2000, the club has filled a void left when the previous lapidary group dissolved in the 1960's. The club has diversified from it's original focus of just mineral collecting to include lapidary - cutting, polishing and faceting, and gold fossicking using metal detectors.
The club has a workroom as part of the Centre for Community Complex in Beryl Street. Here we meet at 7:30 pm on the first Monday of each month and lapidary workshops run as part of our regular activities. Field trips to collecting localities in the Broken Hill district occur on the third Sunday of each month (excluding summer) and visitors and/or new members are most welcome to join us.
